Dive & Snorkel Club Meeting

  • 27 April 2016
  • 6:00 PM
  • The ALYC Hut

Hello Everyone!

Wow, do we have a treat in store for this month’s meeting!

Captain Patrick Smith has graciously agreed to present to our group this month. Patrick is regarded as one of the foremost authorities on West Coast maritime history. With over 50 years of recreational, professional and scientific dive experience, Patrick has published numerous articles on maritime archeology and co-authored the book Shipwrecks of Southern California. He also serves on numerous marine and archaeological research boards, while consulting to a number of governmental agencies on these topics.

Patrick will be presenting the History Under Southern California Waters, covering a time span from the turn of the 19th century through World War II. Capt. Smith’s knowledge is so vast in this area, he’ll offer up topics that likely will have us all saying, “I never knew that!”

Don’t miss out on this opportunity to hear such an acclaimed speaker!

Our business meeting will be brief to allow as much time to our presenter as possible. As a reminder though, we have an upcoming club boat day (diving and snorkeling) on Sat. April 30th and CPR/1st Aid cert course on Sat. May 7th. If you want to attend either let me know asap, time and space are running out.

Look forward to seeing everyone!
