Your ALYC Officers and Directors cordially invite you to attend and join in the ceremonies of our annual Commodore’s Ball and Change of Watch on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at the American Legion Newport Harbor Post 291.

The schedule:

• No Host Cocktails: 6:00 PM
• Change of Watch: 6:50 PM
• Dinner: 7:30 PM
• Dancing: Until 11:00 PM

The Commodore‘s Ball is always an exciting, fun-filled event at the American Legion, and it’s the inaugural social celebration of our yachting season.  We have a superb dinner with wine and the Fabulous Nomads band scheduled for the evening’s festivities.  Please bring your family and guests to join in the fun!  And be sure to make your reservations as soon as possible (by Tuesday 13 January 2015, please) by calling (949) 673-5002.  We will only be seating 250 for this event. American Legion Yacht Club

The American Legion Yacht Club is proud to announce that our club was selected as the Outstanding Club for 2014.

The Southern California Yachting Association (SCYA) was established to coordinate race schedules, regattas, and activities for the 64 yacht clubs.

In addition, SCYA conducts basic and advanced seminars for race management, racing rules, as well as Judge & Umpire workshops for senior and international racers.

Each year SCYA picks the Club of the Year for three different membership categories, Senior Class, Regular Class, and Associate Class Clubs. ALYC is in the Regular Class, and last received the Club of the Year Award in 2010.
