To be held in conjunction with the Dana Point Cruise Out, we will be playing a game called Name That Hashtag.  

The “hashtag” is just a topic similar to the categories in Jeopardy.  Each hashtag will have 5 answers.  Each answer has up to 5 clues and the contestants bid against each other to see who will can Name that Hashtag in the fewest clues.  

This part is like Name that tune where one contestant will say "I can name that hashtag in 5 clues".  The other contestant might say "I can name it in 4 clues".  Then the first contestant can then say "I can name that hashtag in three clues" or they might tell their opponent to Name that Hashtag.  At which point the contestant has three clues to guess the answer. 

It's kind of a combination of Name That Tune and Jeopardy.  Our own ALYC Secretary, Stephen Alfano will be hosting the event live from Baby Beach in Dana Point.  We'll do our very best to enable the game on Zoom as well for those that can't attend in person.

An example. 

Category is professional sport.  Clue might be

1: is played on 18 holes. 

2: you can walk or ride a cart

3: someone comes around and sell you hot dogs while you are playing

4: you are supposed to be on green grass but you might end up “on the beach”

5: you can drive or chip

Answer is……. Golf

Depending on how the bidding went you would have been given as many as 5 or as few as 1 of the clues.
