The Nomination Committee will report their selections for the 2023 ALYC Board of Directors.  Dominations from the floor will also be accepted.

Special Guest Speaker:

James (Jim) Garner (ALYC member) will provide valuable information concerning

Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing (PHWFF)

and how eligible American Legion Yacht Club Members can participate.

The purpose of the presentation is to share with Disabled Veterans and Actively Serving Military members what Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing (PHWFF) is all about.

Everything is provided for any eligible Disabled Veteran or Active-Duty Military who is receiving treatment for a disabling condition. All are provided at no cost to our participants.

Included Activities to our participants:

·       Free Fly Rod and components to build their own fly rod

·       Expert instruction during our weekly meetings to help the participant construct their own functional fly rod.

·       Expert instruction during our weekly meetings to learn how to cast their new fly rod under varying conditions.

·       Expert instruction with how to tie quality flies that catch fish. All fly-tying materials are again provided at no cost to the participant.

·       The participants then go on free fishing trips. Examples of locations that we have gone to recently are Bishop, CA, Tom's Place, CA, Walker Lake, CA and the Wise River in Montana.

All PHWFF activities are supported by donations. Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing (PHWFF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization incorporated in the State of Maryland. PHWFF is dependent on tax-deductible, charitable donations and the help of numerous volunteers to meet the educational, equipment, transportation, and related needs of its participants: https://projecthealingwaters.org/
