We have a great meeting set up for Wednesday 30 August and I'm hoping that everyone who's in town and not vacationing can make it.  Please register for the meeting on the ALYC website calendar so we know how many to arrange seating for.

We're going to have no less than five presenters telling their stories about what they did this summer, and we want to hear from you too.  Have a great summer vacation or dive story you want to share? Come on down to the post and share your summer experiences.  We will have an open mic for you to share your story regardless if it was a great dive trip, a fantastic family road trip or travels abroad.  Come tell your story.

Five presenters will share details of their trip to Cozumel to become Diveheart dive buddies and they have a fantastic video to share with you that is sure to inspire you and show you some diving that you would not have dreamt possible.

Here's one family's adventure:

A six-year-old handed his parents a note. His teacher had called the parents in for an emergency meeting. They asked their son if he had any idea why, and he said, "She didn't like the drawing I did."

The two curious parents went in the next day.

His teacher pulled the drawing below out and said. "I asked him to draw his family and he drew this. Would you mind explaining?"

"Not at all." the mother said. "Family vacation. Snorkeling in the Bahamas."

There will be a few extra surprise guests and I'm sure you'll have a great time hanging out with a bunch of divers.  Please register for the meeting on the ALYC website calendar so we know how many to arrange seating for.

There are some changes coming to the group and some opportunities for you to get a little more involved in not only diving but also in having some fun, active roles in the group.  Want to refresh your basic open water skills?  Feeling a little rusty around the gills and want to get back in the water? We have a program coming to the group to help you with that.  Come on down on the 30th and learn more about how we're going to help this group of divers excel below the surface.

Our group trips to Fiji next year are filling up. Come on down and learn more about our travel plans and ask your questions.  We will have the answers you're looking for.  And we will discuss some future dive trips in our own backyard.  Come be a part of the discussion and let's plan together.

As always, we'll gather at the post for dinner at 4:30ish, for dinner, drinks and good conversation with some great people.  The meeting and presentation will begin promptly at 6:30 and I promise to have you out the door by 8:00.

Please feel free to bring your family members.  Family is an important part of this group, and we encourage you to involve them too no matter how old or how young.  The door is open to all.

Please register for the meeting on the ALYC website calendar so we know how many to arrange seating for.

Hope to see all of you on the 30th of August and don't forget to register!
