The time to " get your cruise on " is rapidly approaching. The clubs signature cruise to Corsair YC at Emerald Bay on Catalina will be held September 6 - 8. For those that haven't been to Emerald it is a spot not to be missed and for those that have it is always a treat to go back and enjoy the beauty of the water there, the reef and the surrounding scenery. If you have children or grandchildren feel free to bring them along.

Corsair YC facilities ashore include hot water showers, toilet facilities, electricity to plug in crockpots, coffee pots and waffle irons ( I like waffles ), a large BBQ grill,  etc.

I will ask that if you are coming by boat and have a dinghy please bring it as shore boat service is not available in the bay. We will have at least 2 but we will be spending a lot of time ashore so more will be needed.

The plan for the weekend is as follows:

I will bring Valor over Friday and hope to be on a mooring between 1 and 2 PM. I will have some ice onboard for planned activities but suggest each boat stockpile some as well. Those with ice makers aboard god bless you.

For those arriving on Friday I am not scheduling any club activities for Friday dinner. You can eat on your boat or feel free to come ashore to use the grill and/or the electrical outlets there. I do plan on having a bonfire ashore Friday evening and will supply the makings for smores for all. I am asking that each boat pick up 1 bundle of prepackaged firewood to donate to the bonfire. I think all the grocery stores have this. It will be appreciated if those that have long forks for toasting marshmallows and or other things that can be used for making smores bring them. Beverages are BYOB. 

As of now Saturday breakfast and lunch are on your own. What I am thinking of doing for Saturday afternoon is to have a dinghy raft up behind Valor around 2 PM. I will try and locate a Karaoke machine for the talented and/or those emboldened by liquid courage to showcase their talents. I ask that everyone bring some sort of simple appetizer to be passed around. Some sort of signature cocktail will be concocted on Valor and will be made available to all in the raft up. 

Saturday dinner is being planned as a pot luck ashore. The club will supply the charcoal and lighter fluid for the grill. It is a large grilling surface and feel free to place anything you bring on it. There will be room for all. Don't forget things like paper plates, utensils, salt, pepper, condiments, butter for your corn if needed and glasses or cups for your beverage of choice.
