Mark At The Park.
Mark Guccione is a PADI Master Scuba Instructor with over thirty years of teaching experience at Catalina Divers Supply and has a strong presence on Facebook where he posts daily dive conditions, personal experiences and often interviews special guests visiting Catalina. He’s bringing his experience and stories from the dive park in Avalon to our main hall next Wednesday evening, September 27th.
If you haven’t been to the dive park you need to hear first hand from Mark his tips to get the most out of your dive experience, his favorite dive sites and quite possibly where to find the best coffee and doughnuts when you disembark the ferry in the morning. You will be entertained, and have fun listening to Mark but pay close attention to what he has to say! There might be a test and the right answer might earn you a prize from Cressi.
Your fellow team members will be gathering at 4:30 to order drinks and dinner from the menu, share recent dive adventure stories and talk about the upcoming trips to Fiji. Looking for a dive buddy? This is the time and place to find a buddy, and plan that next adventure.
At 6:30 we will gather in the main hall for our meeting. Kicking off this month we will be receiving a brief dive medicine presentation by our dive surgeon, Dr Janet Solis. Monthly she’ll be briefly addressing a different medical related issue that is often unique to and frequently affects divers along with their causes and courses of action to remedy them. Future presentations will include hyperbaric medicine, dive medicine updates and advances and addressing preventative measures we can take before that problem occurs.
We have some new business to discuss, some training to finalize, social events that need planning and opportunities for you to consider participating in. We need your help after dinner and before the meeting to set up a few tables and the AV system in the main hall. Please lend a hand to speed up setting up and tearing down so we all have more time to have fun together at the meetings. Don’t forget to make a reservation for this meeting! Plan on bringing a Veteran, bring a guest and for sure your family members. This is a family event and all members, regardless of age, are welcomed and encouraged to attend.
