Students must pass a swim test which consists of treading water for 5 minutes, donning a life jacket in the water, and swimming on their back while wearing a life jacket. They must also demonstrate an at ease demeanor in the water. Life jackets are provided.

Please use the on-line reservation system... 'www.docwa.com' and select Dana Point Marina. Also, the boat owner should note in the special request section "American Legion Yacht Club" and the Operations Manager will try to group together as many of us as possible.

Club boat, Valor, will be able to take passengers down to Dana Point on Friday April 4th and return to home base at ALYC in Newport Beach on Sunday April 6th (lodging in Dana Point at your expense).
Please note: there are two registration sessions:
You will need to register for each session/cruise if you plan to take Valor to Dana Point and return to ALYC.
It's not an automatic return cruise!
While space is initially limited, the skipper can choose to take additional guests, so please add your name to the waiting list if cruises are full.
Space is limited up to 6 guests per cruise.
Limited space is available for your personal supplies at the skipper's discretion.
Boat appropriate shoes only, no black soles.
No red wine or other red drinks aboard, please.
Also please dress for weather.

1pm - 3pm

$10 includes hamburgers, hot dogs, a couple of side dishes, all the fixings and water bottles.

We will be at the picnic gazebo across Dana West Yacht Club on the greenbelt.

If you are having guests, parking is available in the Private Boater’s Lot for $3.00 per hour or $16.00 maximum per day if the car does not leave the lot. They must take a ticket at the gate entry kiosk; the gate will open. On the way out, scan the ticket and enter credit card to pay.

California Coastal Cleanup Day!
12:30PM - 3:30PM. Site Captain is Gary Symons.
We will be meeting in front of American Legion Yacht Club (ALYC) Hut in the parking lot of the American Legion Post 291 located at the West end of the parking lot.
The American Legion Post 291 parking lot is for MEMBERS ONLY. All others will need to find offsite parking.
The maximum number of participants is 40 volunteers.
All volunteers participating in this event will need to sign event waivers from both the California Coastal Commission and the American Legion Yacht Club.
The ALYC will be awarding prize(s) for the volunteer collecting the most pounds, largest piece of waste, and the most usual piece of waste.
This is a day where we come together as a community on an international scale to clean our beaches, parks, and waterways.
You can clean as little or as much as your time permits. Peninsula locations assignment will be made at check in. Please bring your own sunscreen, refillable water bottles and reusable buckets. Trash bags will be available.
